La Casa Del Suizo is a tranquil Amazonian refuge located on the shore of Ecuador’s majestic Napo River and a stone’s throw away from the eastern slopes of the Andes Mountains. Perched comfortably above the riverbank and the small Quichua Indian village of Ahuano, La Casa del Suizo overlooks vast expanses of the surrounding tropical rainforest environment.

MISICOCHA

This visit is a walk through primary and secondary forest in trails along which you can see different species of birds and insects that maintain the balance of the ecosystem. There is a wide variety of plants and medicinal trees in the area, whose use will be explained by your guide.

Along the trails the tourist will have the opportunity to enjoy adventures different such as swinging on vine. After the hike you can choose between lunches in the forest or go back to the hotel.

For the adventurous we have the option of the raft which follows: The raft to return to the hotel guide will teach you build a raft of logs, which you can download floating in the waters of Napo river to La Casa del Suizo for lunch.This visit lasts about 4 hours, and if they decide to have lunch at the jungle is 5 to 6 hours.

THE INDIGENOUS FAMILY VISIT

It is possible to visit a family in the community of Quichua of Ahuano, where taught the traditional rites of their culture. In addition, the members of this family will demonstrate their way of subsistence through the Blowgun hunting, pottery, and “chicha” of yucca (traditional drink), which will have the opportunity to try.

THE ISLAND

On this visit the passengers will have the experience of agriculture the place, traditional crops, and medicinal plants used by the natives since ancient times.

You can also admire insects and birds.

Then will have the option of going to the Butterfly ($4.00 adult $2.00 child) where you can admire the metamorphosis of these wonderful insects. We have 16 species at the time.

GOLD PANNING

When the river permits, can be a short tour by canoe on the Napo River. Our passengers can observe the traditional ancestral form of gold; In addition the native guide will explain and demonstrate as washing the gold through the use of a punt.

COSANO

Early departure after breakfast canoe for about 25 minutes with destination to our book at the Arajuno Cosano river. Then undertake a walk by primary forest for approximately 2 hours accompanied by a native guide which will explain the flora and fauna of the sector. Once back at Arajuno river, passengers will have the opportunity to refresh or bathe in this beautiful place. For the more adventurous the return on buoys to the Napo River can be arranged, they will always be accompanied by a canoe.

If passengers want you can visit Amazon animal rescue station (the entrance is paid directly at the station. Cost approx. $2.50 adult $1 child). Return to the hotel for lunch in canoe.

Guest is required to call at least 72 hours ahead of the tour date to confirm the reservation and to provide height information.

Tours may be cancelled if the weather makes for dangerous riding conditions. If we are unable to reschedule the tour, we will issue a full credit or refund.
