Karlstejn Castle is gothic castle, with enchanting monumental architecture, is located southwest of Prague. It is one of Czech´s most visited castles and was built by King Charles IV between 1348 and 1355. Karlstejn Castle once held royal, imperial and coronation jewels as well as an state documents.

Location

The departure point is the Praha Bike office at Dlouha street 24.

At the end of the tour, customers will be dropped off at the Gray Line stand located at 38 Narodni Street, Prague.

Itinerary

We start the guided bike trip to Karlstejn from the Praha Bike office in the center of Prague. Our cycling time to the castle takes about 3.5 hours. During our trip we will pass through several villages, making observation and refreshments stops. Upon our arrival at Karlstejn Village (population 800) we stop for lunch in a traditional Czech restaurant. Then, we leave our bikes behind to walk (15 minutes) up to the castle grounds. Your guide will introduce you to the history of the castle as well as the life of Karel IV and will show you around the exterior. (Guests have the option of taking a guided tour (55 minutes) of the castle interior (Adults 270Kc, Children, Students & Seniors 180Kc).

We return back to Prague by train. Trains depart from Karlstejn to Prague approximately every 20 minutes with the journey lasting 40 minutes. Our trip ends at the Praha Bike office around 5:00pm. For the whole trip you will be accompanied with our friendly and very helpful tour guide.

This tour has a 2 passenger minimum requirement and is subject to cancellation if this minimum is not met. In the unlikely event of such a cancellation, a refund will be provided or an alternative will be offered.

Tours on Wednesdays and Fridays will take place if there will be at least 4 people for the departure.
