At 2:00pm in the afternoon, you are picked up at your hotel and driven to Antigua, the enchanting city of colonial Guatemala. Founded in 1524, Antigua is now a beautiful blend of ruins, restored colonial buildings, and modern colonial architecture. Antigua is a UNESCO World Heritage Cultural Site. The scenic horizon surrounding the city is filled with great mountains and volcanoes. The Half Day Tour visits the celebrated Central Plaza and the antique Cathedral, the Municipal Government Building, and the Palace of the Captains General. The tour also includes a visit to colonial churches and monasteries, primitive foot looms where colorful textiles are woven, and a jade factory producing stunning jewelry. Afterwards, the tour returns to Guatemala City.
