Highlights / General details
There have been Jewish communities in Vienna since the 13th century. This tour is intended to give an overview over the eventful and often very tragic Jewish history of the city. We tell about Jewish life in the city from its earliest beginnings in the 12th century, it ups and downs in the course of history. We stop by the Gestapo Memorial on Morzinplatz, take you through the Jewish Textile Quarter around Rudofsplatz, talk about the Austrian Documentation Archive and the envisaged Simon Wiesental Research Centre, and finish by the Holocaust Memorial on Judenplatz Square.
