Not if you come with Fat Tire Tours! You will meet your host in front of the chateau and be delivered an entertaining introduction to the historical past of the palace. You will then walk right past all the lines and be taken straight inside where you can explore the domain of kings and queens at your own pace with an audio guide included.

Location

Please do NOT go directly to the Versailles Palace entrance, your ticket is not there.

Your meeting point is the large statue of Louis XIV on a horse directly in front of the palace outside the main gates. You cannot pick up your Versailles tickets in advance.

The closest train station to the palace is Versailles Rive Gauche (RER C line). It takes approximately 10-15 minutes to walk from the train station to the ticket meeting point (Louis XIV statue in front of the palace).

Trains generally run every 15 minutes from Paris, and it is a 30-40 minute train ride to Versailles, so be sure to allow plenty of time to arrive from Paris. We recommend leaving central Paris 1 hour before your activity start time.

DIRECTIONS: If you are taking the RER C, exit the station at Versailles Rive Gauche (end of the line) and turn right once outside. At the first intersection (Avenue de Paris) you will see the palace on your left.

The group will depart at the exact start time and our group entry ticket will expire, so we cannot catch you up if you are late. Check-in closes 5 minutes before your activity time. Please come with all attending members of your party.

Children 0-2 years of age free with adult.

Policies

Your ticket is for a pre-reserved group entry time and you can only enter the palace with a Fat Tire Tours representative and the rest of the group booked for this timed entry (once you enter the palace there is no requirement to stay with the group).

On days where the fountains are running (Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays) you will be required to purchase a ticket to enter the gardens. Tickets can be bought at the garden entrance. There is generally no queue to enter the gardens.

All of our tours operate rain or shine. Please check the weather and dress accordingly.
